Welcome to
Seneca Acres Farm
We live on a 68 acre farm just 3
miles from Seneca lake Ohio, which is how we got our name "Seneca
Acres Farm". I started raising goats in 1994 with just 5 brush
goats with the purpose of clearing off a steep hillside after watching my
husband bush hog it with the tractor, sometimes on just 2 or 3
wheels. My husband laughed and shook his head when he saw me
drive in with these 5 goats in the back of our truck. I
decided later I wanted to get into something big with the goat
business. So, not knowing anything about the different
breeds of meat goats, I bought 4 Kiko does and 1 Kiko buck. I
had no idea I had just bought the #1 breeding, brush eating,
hardy, low maintenance, parasite and hoof rot resistant goats
on the planet. Someone was definitely watching out for me on
my quest to ranch goats.
It is a real pleasure to watch the kids
being born and up on their feet and nursing in no time. The
vigor and vitality of these kids are truly amazing. Now, here
we are twelve years later with 50 breeding does and 4 Kiko herd sires and
enjoying every minute of it.
Come on in and look around our
website and
see what has become our family business and future retirement.
O and, my husband is not laughing and shaking his head at me
now. I may have just saved his life, because now, he does not
have to bush hog those steep hillsides.
